All Time High A French original Netflix film tells the story of a young man who deceives people while going through a rough patch in life. However, he meets a woman who owns a million-dollar cryptocurrency. The two are attracted to each other, but is this feeling genuine, or are they deceiving each other?

A small-budget film from a new director, another offering from Netflix, is undoubtedly not expected to be a masterpiece. However, it still possesses a distinctive style that makes it intriguing. The plot revolves around a young man who has deceived people throughout his life. He encounters a young woman who might be deceiving him as well by claiming to have a new cryptocurrency with lower mining energy consumption than others in the industry, potentially making her coins worth millions. This piques his interest, and he attempts to do good and help her, leading to the development of what seems like genuine love. Yet, is this true love, or just their mutual greed at play? This is the question the film poses, navigating a storyline filled with both love and deceit, keeping the audience in suspense throughout.

The film attempts to use dialogue as its selling point, with the main characters almost never ceasing to speak in every scene. However, the constant stream of dialogue is filled with continuous lies, making it irritating to watch. Yet, this annoyance becomes a defining feature of the story, deliberately portraying both characters as losers in normal society …resulting in them appearing as eccentric individuals in mainstream society, forced to live a life filled with lies day after day. The constant deceit, to the point where even their names differ each day, reflects the absurdity of their lives. Even their close friends engage in the same deceitful profession, yet their government-provided livelihood allows them to sustain their lives without caring to seek more conventional employment. The film directly addresses the issues faced by such individuals, but it may lack the intensity in details.

 

Another peculiar aspect of this film is that it is a love story between two deceitful individuals, but the narrative is driven more by action scenes than romance. The male protagonist, having a background as a former boxer and showcased long take fight scenes with a gang in a gambling. There are scenes of broken bones and bloodshed, as if the film is deliberately attempting to feature action scenes, even though it is not necessary. The effort to incorporate these action scenes is so pronounced that even the climax of the story involves a car chase, although these action scenes are not executed exceptionally well.But it’s add an unexpected and peculiar element to the film.

 

The movie is peculiar in several ways, presenting an unconventional love story involving loser characters in a society where deceit is prevalent. The characters engage in eccentric and absurd activities, it manages to keep the audience annoying,but still want to know the final summary of the story. Additionally, there are long take action scenes incorporated throughout the film, although they may not be exceptionally well-executed, they add an extra scene to the overall narrative.
