[BURNING BODY Review Netflix] Focus on selling female actors from the Money Heist series more than less complex real cases.

BURNING BODY

Summary

In general, it sounds like this is a crime series based on real events that focuses more on selling beauty and explicit scenes of the female actresses Úrsula Corberó from the series Money Heist, rather than delving into complex and deep crime content. This is because the storytelling seems to extensively explore the past, almost revealing all the events, rather than being a direct investigative narrative. Moreover, it seems to delve deeply into character relationships, making the series unnecessarily lengthy.

BURNING BODY Review Netflix

The series, based on a true story, is described by the creator as “event simulation,” likely because the main characters involved in the murder have been judged but the real events have not been publicly disclosed. Instead, the series is filled with fictionalized accounts presented in court. Overall, it seems like a retelling of the events in a new narrative, rather than a documentary-style storytelling. It follows a typical series format, starting with the crime scene in a car and then jumping back in time over ten years to the present day, while also alternating with current investigation developments. The storytelling approach sometimes resembles direct-to-camera monologues, similar to the popular Netflix series ELITE, which was directed by the creator of this series, Jorge Torregrossa , in several episodes. Therefore, there is a significant resemblance in the narrative style.

However, the problem with this storytelling lies in the constant switching between the past and present, which can be confusing at times. This confusion is exacerbated by the fact that the characters in the series undergo almost no physical changes over the span of ten years. Their appearances remain the same, except for the transition from old-style mobile phones to smartphones, which can be somewhat jarring due to the noticeable difference in technology. Their clothing and hairstyles also remain unchanged throughout. The constant back-and-forth between past and present is a recurring feature from the beginning to the end of the series.

The main highlight of the series is not the legal case itself, as it is based on a true story with a predetermined outcome, and the actual events in the case are not overly complex. Instead, the series focuses on romantic relationships, and it features a cast led by Úrsula Corberó, known for her role as “Tokyo” in the series Money Heist. In this series, she portrays Rosa, a character with long, beautiful hair who exudes charm and captivates multiple men throughout the story. Four men in particular become infatuated with her and continuously become entangled in her life. Each of these men has their own personal issues, and all of them are somehow connected to the case in question.

The series meticulously explores these relationships and interweaves the stories of these four men while also depicting their passionate love affairs. At times, the series takes on a nearly erotic quality. If you enjoy character-driven dramas, it seems like this series will definitely cater to your preferences.

With the series consisting of up to 8 episodes, each lasting a mere 50 minutes, but with shallow content, merely revolving around cops killing, with the attractiveness of the criminals being the highlight, the creator elaborates on the story in excessive detail, making the enjoyment of this series lie more in the current storyline focused on investigation, albeit quite short compared to other parts. If this were a 4-6 episode series, it would likely be more fitting.
