FAIR PLAY A couple in love working at a Wall Street stock market fund company had to keep their relationship a secret due to the company’s strict policies, until the woman was promoted. During the period when they decided to get married, this secrecy began to take a toll on their relationship, leading to its deterioration.

The first film from director Chloe Domont, who co-wrote and directed it, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival before Netflix acquired the rights. It tells the story of a couple whose relationship gradually falls apart. The characters argue throughout the film, with the conflict starting one night when Emily receives a late-night phone call from her boss, leading to her getting a promotion that makes Luke suspicious about what might be happening between her and boss. While initially there seem to be no issues, tensions start to rise as their work begins to suffer, leading to personal mistrust and a game of trying to outmaneuver each other, with both of them keeping secrets in their hearts, even though they return home together every night.

The movie focuses on dialogue that gradually escalates tension, primarily revolving around work-related issues. It incorporates stock market-related terminology to a small extent, without causing significant problems for viewers who may not be familiar with such terms. This aspect of the storyline flows smoothly, making the decision-making game of buying stocks for the company’s benefit engaging. While he does have intense emotional scenes, the issue lies in the fact that the character development isn’t as balanced, with more focus on the female lead.
