[Hijack apple TV+ Review] Innovatively unique with protagonist’s crisis negotiation skills!

Hijack

Summary

This is a unique heist-themed airplane series that stands out, even though it lacks any action scenes due to the protagonist being a negotiator. However, the tension-packed storyline twists and turns through dialogue alone, making the narrative incredibly gripping and suspenseful. Each episode is entertaining, but the simultaneous occurrence of events both on the plane and on the ground in the initial stages might initially confuse viewers about their connection. Nonetheless, the series wraps up completely in just 7 episodes, making it well worth watching.

Hijack apple TV+ Review(No Spoilers)

A series confronts an unusual twist as it pits the protagonist against enigmatic airplane hijackers. The main character, however, is not a combat-trained individual but rather a savvy negotiator skilled in business deals. Unlike the conventional negotiator roles typically seen, this series sets itself apart by deviating from the norm. Audiences expecting action-packed scenes may be disappointed, as the show predominantly relies on dialogue and negotiation. In each episode, the story unfolds with fresh challenges, forcing the protagonist to employ negotiation skills to overcome obstacles, all with the ultimate goal of returning home. This encompasses not only his desire to reunite with his family but also his determination to aid the 200 lives on the plane.

The series unfolds the narrative on a hijacked airplane from the very beginning, interwoven with characters connected to this plot across various ground locations. These locations span different European countries, with the UK serving as the main hub. The story delves into the lives of the protagonist’s family, navigating through a divorce and a new marriage to a young police officer. This officer himself becomes pivotal once he discovers the airplane’s hijacking, which leads to a web of intrigue involving government agencies sending foreign ministers and Minister of the Interior to control the situation. Amidst this, conflicting interests and viewpoints arise.

This is a story about a wide-ranging battle against a group of airplane hijackers. Initially, it was thought that due to the series format, the plot would need to be expanded to create multiple seasons. However, this is a limited series that concludes with a complete 7 episodes. It intricately narrates the relationships among these characters. Although viewers might not initially understand how each event is connected, as the story gradually narrows its focus, all the pieces come together, making the overall picture shine brightly. This is the best aspect of the story, allowing each group of characters to play significant roles.

The protagonist, who is a negotiator, serves as the central point of the story but barely contacts anyone due to the severed communication link with the ground. However, this showcases his negotiating abilities, turning crises into opportunities. He accurately predicts and analyzes the psychology of the adversaries, although at times it might appear irrational, it’s never completely unreasonable. Idris Elba is the Producer in this series. He understands and portrays the role exceptionally well, embodying the negotiator role effectively. The only minor drawback might be his imposing physique, which occasionally clashes with the negotiator persona.

The antagonist team in the story is spread across both the airplane and the ground, with the mystery of their actions unfolding. They engage in their activities without making any negotiations or displaying any Islamic extremist motives. This mystery adds intrigue to the narrative, leaving audiences curious about their intentions and actions, as well as who the culprits might be. The story cleverly weaves this puzzle on multiple levels, offering exciting twists in Episode 6. However, the final resolution in Episode 7 might follow a more straightforward formula, potentially leading to a slight disappointment after the heightened excitement of Episode 6.

Production high-budget style of Apple TV+ with absolutely no compromise in quality. The story features flights through multiple countries, with meticulously realistic airplane simulation scenes. There are warplane as well as ground-based scenes set in various locations in London, all of which are executed exceptionally well, truly reflecting a top-tier high-quality production.
